Want to immigrate to Ireland from Hong Kong?

The ‘Emerald Isle’ is home to 4.98 million people – including rock group U2, and actors Colin Farrell and Liam Neeson. It is attracting a growing number of would-be residents, and with almost one in six people in Hong Kong preparing to immigrate, it is country to seriously consider.

There are option of four investment classes under the Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP), which is open to non-EEA nationals:

  • Enterprise Investment
  • Investment Fund
  • Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)
  • Endowment (Philanthropic)

In 2019, Ireland was ranked the third most developed country in the world by the UN Development Programme’s Human Development Index, which looks at things such as health, education and standard of living.

Ireland Visa Information

Enterprise Investment
  • A minimum investment of €1 million in an Irish enterprise for three years.
  • Main applicant must be over 18 years old and have a net worth of at least €2 million.
  • Must provide evidence of character for each person above the age of 16. The statement of charter is to be provided by the police authorities of each country in which the person has resided for more than six months during the ten-year period prior to making the application.
  • Each applicant must have no criminal record.
  • Must visit Ireland one day per year to maintain permanent resident status.

Note:

  • Spouse and children under the age 18 and financially dependent unmarried children between 18 –24 years old qualify as ancillary applicants as part of the main applicant’s application.
  • No language requirements.
  • No medical checks required.
Investment Fund
  • A minimum investment of €1 million in an approved investment fund for three years. The fund must be approved by the Central Bank.
  • Main applicant must be over 18 years old and have a net worth of at least €2 million.
  • Must provide evidence of character for each person above the age of 16. The statement of charter is to be provided by the police authorities of each country in which the person has resided for more than six months during the ten-year period prior to making the application.
  • Each applicant must have no criminal record.
  • Must visit Ireland one day per year to maintain permanent resident status.

Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)
  • A minimum investment of €2 million in an Irish REIT listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. Investment period is for three years.
  • Main applicant must be over 18 years old and have a net worth of at least €2 million.
  • Must provide evidence of character for each person above the age of 16. The statement of charter is to be provided by the police authorities of each country in which the person has resided for more than six months during the ten-year period prior to making the application.
  • Each applicant must have no criminal record.
  • Must visit Ireland one day per year to maintain permanent resident status.

Endowment (Philanthropic)
  • A minimum of €500,000 philanthropic donation to a project for public benefit within the arts, sports, health, culture, or education industries in Ireland.

  • Must provide evidence of character for each person above the age of 16. The statement of charter is to be provided by the police authorities of each country in which the person has resided for more than six months during the ten-year period prior to making the application.
  • Each applicant must have no criminal record.
  • Must visit Ireland one day per year to maintain permanent resident status.
